A FINE IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL MOUNTED PORTFOLIO, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1900. The large rectangular form covered in green leather with gilt striping along the borders. The cover mounted with a finely crafted silver-gilt and champleve enamel Imperial Double Headed Eagle of the Imperial Military Historical Society. The breast set with a shield displaying St. George slaying the dragon atop a translucent red enamel field. (Height 4.25 inches or 11cm). The interior of folio lined with green moirE silk and the borders with ornate gilt punch work. Interior with gilt stamped maker’s mark in Cyrillic 'Petersen' with a St. Petersburg address. The lower left corner of folio bearing what appears to be a faded Gatchina Palace Inventory numbered label. 20 inches x 15 inches (51 x 38 cm).
