A GROUP OF PERIOD PHOTOGRAVURES FROM THE 1903 IMPERIAL COSTUME BALL. Comprising a pair of framed images of the Tsar and Tsaritsa in 17th century court costumes (illustrated) after Rafail Levitsky. Each with Roman numerals I and II and printed in Russian and French with the sitters name, title and photographer and further printed in both languages, 'Expedition for the Printing of State Papers' Together with a pair of similar unframed images of Baroness Fredericks and Princes Obolensky, also in similar costume although printed in sepia and after photographs by Boissanas & Eggler. Each image printed on a large sheet 18 inches x 13 inches (46 x 33cm) with wide border. The offered photogravures are most likely from a folio album which was published and given to the celebrants of the famous ball.
