A FINE CASED RUSSIAN TROMPE L'OEIL SILVER TEA-GLASS HOLDER AND SPOON, ST. PETERSBURG, 1899-1908. The silver cylindrical tea-glass holder chased and engraved to simulate a woven basket and with similarly chased scroll handle. The interior brightly gilded with a decorative glass etched insert. Together with a silver spoon with tree form handle displaying two climbing bears and with gilded bowl. Contained in its original fitted oak case with silk and velvet lining. Tea glass holder hallmarked St. Petersburg circa 1899-1908, Cyrillic makers mark ?? for Aleksandr Lubavin and 84 standard. Height 3.2 inches (8cm). Spoon also hallmarked St. Petersburg, Cyrillic makers mark ПД, and 84 standard. Length 6.5 inches (16.5cm).
