AN IMPRESSIVE RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT TEA POT, MOSCOW, 1813. Resting on a domed oval foot, chased with acanthus, supporting the ovoid shaped pot with repousse acanthus along the base, and at top a wide band of repousse and chased grapevines and with interesting applied double coiled snake handle, finely chased with snakeskin pattern. The fluted lid with repousse acanthus and urn form finial. Hallmarked Moscow, dated 1813, 84 silver standard and indistinguishable maker's mark. Width 8.5 inches (21.5 cm). Total weight 646 grams.
