A VERY FINE ARMENIAN MITER, 18TH CENTURY. The bulbous form of hammered copper, covered in velvet and set with a profusion of silver-gilt repousse appliques embellished with paste stones and with dome shaped cross finial exhibiting an inscription. The applied silver elements depicting a multitude of Christian related subjects including the Nativity, the Crucifixion, the Placement in the Tomb, the Resurrection, Saints Peter and Paul and with the Agnus Dei interspersed between church forms throughout. Height 10.25 inches (26 cm).
