AN IMPERIAL RUSSIAN PRESENTATION ICON OF THE MOTHER OF GOD, 1900. The mounted color lithograph icon overlaid with a silver glazed frame hallmarked Moscow circa 1899-1908 and with Cyrillic makers mark A. Gudkov and 84 silver standard. Verso mounted with engraved silver-gilt plaque with dedicatory inscription: To the worthy Maria Nikolaevna Baulina in gratitude for the consecration of the chapel to the name of the Greek Mother of God in the Episcopal cathedral of the Holy Trinity of Liutikov Monastery in St. Petersburg. From the Lesnoy Corps, 30 June 1900. (see illustration). The icon in frame set into a velvet lined wood traveling case which has lost its cover. Icon 9.5 inches x 6.5 inches (24 x 17cm). Overall 12 inches x 9 inches (30.5 x 23cm), 9.5 inches x 6 inches (24.1 x 15.2 cm).
