AN INTERESTING CONTINENTAL ENAMELED SILVER GEM SET AND INTERNAL DIORAMA CASKET, 19TH CENTURY IN THE MANNER OF BOUCHERON. The curvilinear hinged lid surmounted with a figural group of St. George and the Dragon, mounted with grotesque facial masks, gemstones and seed pearls, opening to reveal a glazed three dimensional dioramic enameled scene of a castle overlooking a seascape with rocky abutments and above a secondary enameled silver reticulated floral cover, the verso containing a glazed hand colored aquatint of a young beauty in 18th century dress, casket exterior with translucent enamels over a chased ground and each panel mounted with grotesque facial masks and colored stones, raised on lions paw feet. Stamped "AGB" on base. Height 5.75 inches (14.5 cm), length 4 inches (10 cm).
