A VERY FINE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER-GILT WOVEN WIRE AND GEMSTONE SET COVERED BASKET, EARLY 19TH CENTURY. Of oval form in a fine tightly coiled weave with applied foliate forms set with gemstones and pearls within conforming woven cartouches, the fitted cover surmounted with an extending floral spray. Apparently unmarked. Length 10.5 inches (26.7 cm), weight approximately 14.50 troy ounces.
