A VERY FINE RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, FEODOR RUCKERT, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1900. The hinged lid with ornately framed cartouche masterfully painted en plein with a scene of the Moscow Kremlin. The remainder of the body overall in moss green enamel with colorful scrolling foliage and the reverse enameled with opposing exotic birds each holding a floral scepter. The interior brightly gilded, hallmarked Moscow c. 1900, stamped twice with the Cyrillic makers mark ФР for Feodor Ruckert, one over stamped with Cyrillic retailors mark of P. OVCHINNIKOV beneath the imperial warrant, and with 88 silver standard. Length 3.5 inches (9 cm).
