A CARVED AND POLYCHROME WOOD FIGURAL GROUPING OF ST. GEORGE AND THE DRAGON, GERMAN, PROBABLY 19TH CENTURY. Finely carved in full round with good proportions, deep folds and cascading hair. George holds a sword above his head and thrusts a lance into the mouth of the beast beneath him. Scattered paint loss. Height 27.5 inches (69.8 cm).
