A PAIR OF RUSSIAN WEDDING ICONS, EMELIAN KUSNETSOV, MOSCOW, 1908-1917. Comprising the Kazan Mother of God and Christ who holds an open book of Gospels to John 13:34. Both overlaid with multi-piece, repousse and engraved gilded silver rizas in the Pan Slavic taste. Each hallmarked Moscow, circa 1908-1917 and with Cyrillic makers mark EK for Emelian Kuznetsov and with 84 silver standard. Stunning! 12.25 inches x 10.5 inches (31 x 26.7 cm).
