A RUSSIAN SILVER COVERED CUP, KARL SEIPEL, ST. PETERSBURG, 1854. Resting on a slightly domed footed base and supporting an eight sided cylindrical body, banded at the top and bottom with blown out heart forms repoussed with strapwork, the fitted lid similarly decorated and with cone finial, interior brightly gilded. Hallmarked St. Petersburg, dated 1854, makers mark C.A.S for Karl Adolf Seipel and with 84 silver standard. Weight 23.5 troy oz. Height 10 inches (25.5 cm).
