A VERY FINE FRENCH RENAISSANCE STYLE CARVED IVORY AND BONE ARCHITECTURAL JEWELRY CHEST, MID 19TH CENTURY. Finely modeled as a two story pavilion with sculpture, the lower façade with a recessed removable portico containing a carved nude figure with spring catches opening to reveal four hidden drawers and further releasing flanking hinged doors each with classical nudes on bracketed corbels. The verso with scrolled mounts and revealing eight additional drawers each with carved fruit, acorn and rosette form pulls below shaped cornice surmounted with five carved ivory classical figures below a squared tower with hinged locking cover surmounted with three figural carved ivory finials. Height 20.5 inches (52 cm).
