A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE GERMAN CARVED AND POLYCHROME WOOD RELIEF PLAQUE OF VERONICA WIPING THE FACE OF JESUS, 19TH CENTURY. Finely carved in three quarter round, of good proportions and anatomy and set in its original and substantial Gothic style carved oak and gilt wood tabernacle style frame. Overall height 48.5 inches (123.2 cm), width 27 inches (68.5 cm).
