A RUSSIAN LACQUER BOX, CIRCA 1840.  The hinged lid with mother of pearl inset plaque painted with a beauty holding a rose, apparently unmarked. Together with two 19th century Russian lacquer boxes, the first with over-fitting lid painted with song birds; the second a with hinged lid inscribed "Tobacco" in Russian. Largest 3.75 inches x 2.5 inches (9.6 x 6.2 cm).
