A FINE RUSSIAN ICON OF THE VLADIMIR MOTHER OF GOD, MOSCOW 1899-1907.  A finely and fully painted image of the Vladimir Mother of God, being earlier than the riza, circa 1800, but unquestionably the riza was made for this icon. Overlaid with an ornate gilded silver, repoussed, and chased riza with cloisonné enameled haloes, corner plaques and title plaques. Hallmarked Moscow, 1899-1907 and with Cyrillic makers initials НГ., and with later spurious Fabergé mark. 12.5 inches x 10.75 inches (32 x 27.5 cm).
