A NORTHERN RUSSIAN ICON OF THE RAISING OF LAZARUS, 16TH CENTURY. Here Lazarus is shown rising from the dead, still wrapped in burial clothes, emerging from his tomb as he is admonished by Christ, “Lazarus Come Out!” At the feet of Christ are the sisters of Lazarus, Mary and Martha, and behind him the Apostles. 22 inches x 17.25 inches (56 x 44 cm).
