A RUSSIAN ICON OF SELECTED SAINTS, MSTERA, CIRCA 1880. On the upper margin within a circular reserve, a finely painted image of Christ delivering a blessing, and below three finely painted family saints with extensive gilt highlights, they are from left to right: the Holy Hieromartyr Kharlampiy, the Holy Hieromartyr Sadoth, and the Holy Great Martyr Barbara. The left border painted with the Guardian Angel and the right border painted with the Prophet Elijah. The kovcheg intricately decorated and the foreground stipple-painted, both characteristic of icons produced in Mstera. 12.4 inches x 10.25 inches (31.5 x 26 cm).
