A RUSSIAN ICON OF SAINTS ZOSIM AND SAVVATIY, 17TH CENTURY. At top center, an image of the Sign Mother of God and below, full-length images of Zosim and Savvatiy who are considered of the Solovetsky Monastery. They are identified by the inscriptions above their heads and between them is inscribed, "Wonder-Workers from Solovetsk." Contained in a later glazed shadow box frame (kiot). The borders reduced and later over painted. The icon 10.75 inches x 9 inches (27 x 23 cm). (Unillustrated)
