AN INTERESTING RUSSIAN ICON TRIPTYCH OF ST. JOHN THE WARRIOR, 19TH CENTURY. The central arched panel painted with the Warrior Saint John beneath the Holy Visage and within a raised decorative gilt gessoed border. The left wing with the Archangel Gabriel and the right wing with the Mother of God, together forming the Annunciation scene. The central panel with family saints Paraskeva, Anna, Florus, and Lorus. The lower margin of the central panel inscribed with a lengthy prayer to the Mother of God. 16.9 inches x 27 inches (43 x 68.5 cm).
