A RUSSIAN SILVER ENGRAVED CHALICE AND DISKOS COMMUNION SET, MOSCOW, 1875.  Consisting of an engraved silver-gilt chalice, the domed base engraved in strapwork, the cup engraved with the diesis, and the rim engraved in Slavonic, "Receive the body of Christ; taste of the font of immortality." Height 9 inches (22.7 cm). Together with a matching engraved silver footed diskos. The center of the diskos engraved with Christ as the Lord Almighty and the rim engraved in Slavonic, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." Diameter 5.5 inches (14.1 cm). Also containing a silver engraved zvezdista and smaller diskos engraved with the cross. Each piece hallmarked Moscow, dated 1875, with Cyrillic maker's mark "VP," and 84 silver standard.
