A FRENCH SILVER-GILT AND CHAMPLEVÉ ENAMELED CHALICE AND PATEN, AUGUST CABARET, PARIS, CIRCA 1900. The inverted cone shaped base with beaded and fleur-dis-lis banding and upon which is set a small enameled crucifix beneath the stem and central compressed node supporting a bell-form cup banded with pierced fleur-dis-lis design. The cup and base in champlevé enameled Latin script, "CALICEM SALUTARIS ACCIPIAM ET NOMEN DOMINI INVOCABO." The polished silver-gilt paten with engraved central raised medallion banded in fleur-dis-lis and a quatrefoil cartouche engraved "IHS." Marked on base "A. CABARET" and with French silver standard marks for Paris. Contained in its original custom fitted leather-covered case. Height 8.25 inches (21 cm).
