A PAIR OF NORWEGIAN FOLK ART CARVED WOOD MANGLE BOARDS, EARLY TO MID 19TH CENTURY. Comprising a large horse handled board with stylized acanthus carving and dated 1841 under a brick red and green polychrome finish, a scenic relief carved board with pictorial scene of cottages, animals, and wagon, together with a later (20th century) incised line carved measuring stick with various animal forms and symbols. The largest mangle length 28 inches (71 cm).
