A PAIR OF KPM QUALITY HAND-PAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUES, CIRCA 1890-1900, PROBABLY GERMAN. The first depicting St. Joseph and the Infant Christ, of oval form, 7 inches x 5.5 inches (18 x 14 cm), adhered to a non-removable backing and contained in a period gilt molded frame. 16 inches x 14 inches (40.5 x 35.5 cm). The second depicting the Madonna and child, after the Sistine Madonna by Raphael. The verso impressed "KPM" with scepter. 9 inches x 6.5 inches (23 x 16.5 cm), and contained in later gilt pressed-wood frame with velour surround. Overall 16.5 inches x 13.75 inches (42 x 35 cm).
