A GOOD CAUCASIAN OR ALBANIAN MIQUELET FLINT LOCK PISTOL AND SHIELD, 18TH/19TH CENTURY. The steel barrel with brass inlay with handle and forestocK overlaid in chased and repoussed brass. Length 15.5 inches (39.5 cm). Together with a fine Indo-Persian sipar (shield), 18th/19th century, probably Baluchi; comprising thick leather hide overlaid with ornamental brass rosettes, reinforcements and four protruding knobs stamped with interlacing circular designs, the interior with two leather strap handles. Diameter 11 inches (28 cm).
