A GROUP OF THREE NORTH RUSSIAN CARVED WOOD LADLES, 19TH CENTURY, MIDDLE VOLGA REGION. The first carved with circular bowl with flat bottom and integral handle ornamented with chip carved geometric patterns and terminating in a stylized figure of a horse, length 10 inches (25.5 cm). The second also with round bowl, slightly flattened bottom and low sharp pointed prow, integral openwork handle with relief carved geometric designs terminating with a stylized horse finial, length 12.25 inches (31 cm). The third with large low carved round bowl with diminutive pointed prow, raised carved circular base with ornate carved openwork handle terminating with a stylized figure of a horse. Length 13 inches (33 cm).
