A LARGE METAL BOUND RUSSIAN ORTHODOX SET OF GOSPELS, MOSCOW 19TH CENTURY. The large front cover set with the Resurrection at center, and mismatched corner elements comprising two matching evangelists, an image of the Mother of God and probably one of the original evangelists, upper right corner. The verso with four mushroom shaped feet and decorated with a repoussé image of the Old Testament Trinity, and with latched side locks. 18 inches x 12.75 inches (45 x 32 cm).
