A PAIR OF RUSSIAN ICONS OF THE MOTHER OF GOD, CIRCA 1890-1910. Comprising an icon of the Kazan Mother of God (illustrated) overlaid with a machine engraved gilded silver riza with possibly later enameled halo and borders. Both riza and enameled elements hallmarked Moscow 1899-1907 and with Cyrillic maker's mark IZ and 84 silver standard. 5.4 inches x 4.5 inches (13.7 x 11.2 cm). Together with an icon of the Iverskaya Mother of God (not illustrated) overlaid with a machine engraved gilded silver riza with possibly later added enameled halo and borders. Bearing spurious St. Petersburg hallmark with 84 silver standard and bearing maker's mark AT. 3.1 inches x 2.6 inches (8 x 6.7 cm).
