A SCARCE FOLIO DEPICTING THE FUNERAL CORTEGE OF EMPRESS Elizabeth Alexeivna, St. Petersburg 1826. The large rectangular folio with black covered paper boards, the title page printed in French, 'CORTEGE FUNEBRE DE FEU SA MAJESTE L’IMPERATRICE ELISABETH ALEXEIVNA-St. Petersbourg, 14 Juin 1826 Permis D’Imprimer, Charles De Poll, Censeur.'  Representing in hand colored lithographs the funeral procession that preceded the burial of Empress Elizabeth Alexeivna (1779-1826), wife of Tsar Alexander I. Consisting of six large pages measuring 12.5 inches x 22.5 inches (31 x 58cm) sheet one beginning with the head of the procession and sheet six illustrated the end of the procession. Each group identified by section and each further identified with French inscriptions, listing the various dignitaries, military, ecclesial and so forth and including the large horse drawn hearse carrying the body of the late Empress.  Overall in good condition.
