A CARVED POLYCHROME AND GILT WOOD FIGURE OF CHRIST THE KING, GERMAN FIRST PART OF THE 20TH CENTURY. The arched top plaque with wide integral base and carved in high relief with the enthroned Christ delivering a blessing and gesturing to his gilded heart and set against a carved gilt sunburst amidst clouds. Verso with vintage inscription, Fleck and Fulda, and further dated 1934.  Perhaps for Rudolf Fleck (German 1914-1999) a carver from Fulda.  Height 25.5 inches (65 cm), width 18 inches (45.3 cm).
