A LARGE RUSSIAN ICON OF THE PASSION, RESURRECTION AND FEASTS, 19TH CENTURY. At center of this large and imposing icon is the Resurrection and Descent surrounded by 12 images of the Passion beginning with the Last Supper and concluding with the Deposition. Out further still the borders display 16 major Church Feasts each with corresponding inscriptions identifying the subject. The large size of the offered icon suggests that it was once displayed in a small chapel or church. 28 inches x 23.25 inches (71 x 59 cm)
