A RARE AND IMPORTANT CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE RUBY-BACKED SAUCER DISH, QING DYNASTY, YONGZHENG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD. The superbly enameled shallow dish with rounded sides decorated with two yellowish orange birds (possibly Magpies) perched on a pink and white blossoming prunus branch extending from the rim, the verso enameled in a rich ruby color surrounding a raised foot rim with white interior and with a six character Yongzheng mark finely painted in underglaze blue within double circles. Diameter 5.75 inches (14.6 cm). Literature: The Tsui Museum of Art, Chinese Ceramics, Vol. IV, pl. 146.
