A MONUMENTAL ITALIAN BAROQUE REVIVAL CARVED WALNUT SHRINE, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY. In two sections, the Bombe shaped base with central scene of the Nativity carved in heavy relief with side panels of the Madonna and cherubs below a bowed niche section with carved three dimensional cherubs busts. Surmounted by a scrolled acanthus carved cornice with central cartouche. Height 102 inches (259.1 cm), width 64 inches (162.6 cm), depth 41 inches (104.1 cm).
