A RENAISSANCE REVIVAL SILVER-GILT CUP AND COVER, PROBABLY GERMAN, 19TH CENTURY. The cup with hand chased and repousse decoration displaying a crest as well as dolphins and sea serpents within oval cartouches raised on a baluster form stem above a bell shaped foot with chased acanthus leaves on stippled ground and various border decorations. The matching dome shaped cover with dolphin and sea serpent medallions surmounted with a tapering pierced spire and flame form finial. Stamped RW makers marks. Approximately 32 troy ounces. Height 19.5 inches (49.5 cm).
