Signed lower left and indistinctly dated. Inscribed in Cyrillic: for my daughter Maria and further inscribed Battle against the Swedes at Krasnaya Gorka during the reign of Empress Catherine II under the command of admiral Chichagov. This drawing was commissioned in 1847 by Emperor Nicholas I and hung in the winter palace.
