A VERY FINE JAPANESE 13 PIECE SATSUMA TEA SET, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. Elaborately decorated with figures of Lohan accented in gilt on bulbous melon ribbed forms with sculpted meandering dragon tail form handles and spout terminating in a dragon's head, the scales well defined in raised white enamel. The lids with dragon form finials and comprising a teapot, lidded sugar, cream jug and five cups and saucers; each with iron red and gilt Satsuma cartouche mark. Height 7.5 inches (19 cm).
