A RUSSIAN SILVER AND EN PLEIN ENAMEL CIGARETTE CASE, SAMOSHIN, MOSCOW 1908-1917. The hinged lid with rounded corners and raised octagonal cartouche inset with a painted enamel depicting a reclining woman with olive branch next to a resting lion-an allegory of peace. The interior gilded and hallmarked Moscow, 1908-1917, Cyrillic makers mark of Igor Samoshin, and 84 silver standard, and later engraved dedicatory inscription. Length 4 inches (10.5 cm).
