A VERY FINE RUSSIAN ICON OF THE EMPRESS SAINT ALEXANDRA, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1900. Exquisitely painted with extensive chrysography and finely incised background and halo, which is painted to similate enameling, the borders similarly painted. The inscription identifies her as "The Holy Empress Alexandra". No doubt executed in one of the Moscow workshops which produced Imperial commissions; in an excellent state of preservation. 12.25 inches x 10. 5 inches (31 x 26.75 cm).
