A RUSSIAN ICON OF SELECTED SAINTS, MOSCOW, CIRCA 1890. Naturalistically painted, at center the venerable Sergei of Radonezh holding an icon of the Old Testament Trinity, after which he named the monastery he founded. On his right, the Holy Equal to the Apostles, Prince Vladimir and the Holy Venerable Mary of Egypt. On his left, the Holy Venerable Taisia and the Holy Nicholas of Kochanov. The background and borders ornately incised. 2.25 inches x 10.5 inches (32 x 26.75 cm).
