A FRENCH RENAISSANCE STYLE CARVED IVORY SIDEBOARD CHARGER, 18TH CENTURY. Of oval form with paneled sidewalls and modified scalloped rim, each panel finely carved with mythological scenes in good relief below an applied eight panel extending rim with carved and reticulated scrolled acanthus and winged putti. The coupe center with a carved portrait of King Louis XIV. Later jeweled beading, with silvered metal supports and foot rim on verso. Contained in a 19th century fitted case. Length 15.5 inches (39.5 cm), width 13.5 inches (34 cm), height 4.75 inches (12 cm).
