A RUSSIAN HAND PAINTED BISQUE PORCELAIN FIGURE, GARDNER, 19TH CENTURY. Modeled as a babushka returning from market. Underside with impressed Gardner mark and red factory mark beneath the Imperial Warrant and inscribed with the number 18. Height 8.2 inches (21 cm). Together with a later Russian bisque porcelain figure of a seated peasant man drinking soup from a kovsh, and seated next to a lidded barrel (probably a salt cellar). Underside bearing impressed Gardner mark and red factory mark beneath the Imperial Warrant, probably after 1917. Height 5.6 inches (14.4 cm).
