A VERY FINE RUSSIAN ICON OF SELECTED SAINTS, ATTRIBUTED TO THE MSTERA WORKSHOP OF OSIP SEMENOVICH CHIRIKOV, CIRCA 1900. At top center within an ogee arch reserve the Lord Almighty atop characteristic Mstera/Chirikov style clouds and below a gathering of nine saints. From left to right top to bottom they are: The Holy Martyr Mary, The Holy Martyr Zinaida, The Venerable Evdokia, The Venerable John, The Holy Martyr Alexander, the Holy Righteous Anna, The Holy Vasily the Great, The Holy Nicholas Wonderworker and The Holy Venerable Sergei of Radonezh Wonderworker. Exquisitely painted with fine detail typical of Chirikov workmanship. 12.25 inches x 10.3 inches (31 x 26 cm).
