A VERY FINE IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL BADGE OF THE COMMITTEE FOR THE STRENGTHENING OF AIR FORCE, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1912.  Within a double laurel wreath is set at center a Greek enameled shield with riveted border upon which is placed a monoplane and above and below a blue enameled ribbon tied at the base and with the words, “AIR FORCE IS THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA” emblazoned upon it. Above the plane is a crowned double headed Imperial Eagle. Verso of laurel branch stamped with the hallmark for St. Petersburg, circa 1908-1917 and 84 silver standard. On the opposite branch is stamped the Cyrillic initials "ВД" for Vladimir Yakovlev Dinakov, a known supplier to EDUARD. In an excellent state of preservation. Height 70 mm and width 48 mm.
