A FINE IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL ROMANOV TERCENTENARY CROSS, 6TH ARTLE, MOSCOW 1908-1917. The cross enameled in green, white, blue, and red and surmounted by the ancient Russian Crown of Monomakh. The verso engraved with the initials of the first Romanov sovereign, Mikhail, and the last Nicholas II. Additionally on the base are engraved the years 1613 and 1913. At center within a circular band is engraved to Slavonic expression, "WE RULE THE EMPIRE THROUGH GOD." Verso of cross at top with integral suspension loop mounted over the Russian coat of arms. Hallmarked Moscow, 1908-1917, and maker's mark for the 6th Artel and with 88 silver standard. Remnant of ribbon also remains. Length 2.6 inches (6.5 cm) excluding ribbon.

The badge was given to persons who donated 100 Rubles, to the development of aeronautics, prior to World War I. The badge was instituted, or authorized, on June 25th, 1912.
