A RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT TSAR ALEXANDER II WINE CARAFE, ANDRÉ BEKMAN, MOSCOW, DATED 1864.  Resting on a slightly flared footed base, the bulbous body with ribbed sides and displaying a large oval medallion plaque repoussed and chased with the image of Tsar Alexander II. At the center of the neck a rope-twist node upon which rests a slightly flared spout with original cork fitted stopper, and the sides with an 'S' scroll handle. Hallmarked Moscow, dated 1864, maker's mark A.W.W. for André Berkman, and with 84 silver standard. Height 12.25 inches (31 cm).
