A RUSSIAN ICON OF ST. SERAPHIM OF SAROV, PROBABLY SECOND HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY.  Executed in the Rostov enamel style, here Seraphim is shown kneeling on a rock within the wilderness and praying before his icon of the Mother of God that he has hung in the tree before him. Below the tree his axe and bread sack. The borders overlaid with repoussé frame. 5.6 inches x 5 inches (14.5 x 12.5 cm).
