A RUSSIAN ROSTOV ENAMELED BLESSING CROSS, 19TH CENTURY. Of traditional form, at center an enameled crucified Christ beneath an oval enameled medallion at top of God the Father and the Holy Spirit and the cross beam terminating with enamels of the Mother of God and the Apostle John. Beneath the feet of Christ, the skull of Adam. The front of the cross with engraved border and the verso engraved with strapwork and engraved in Slavonic "We honor your cross, O Lord, and glorify your resurrection." 13.25 inches x 8.25 inches (33.5 x 21 cm).
