A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE CARVED BONE AND WOOD TRIPTYCH, FRENCH, 19TH CENTURY.  The upper tier of the central panel with the Mother of God and infant Christ at center flanked by four angels holding attributes beneath an overhanging Gothic arch with carved Gothic spire, and below at center, a carved relief image of St. Peter flanked by two seated saints beneath overhanging Gothic arched elements. The top of the left and right wings with carved profile bust images of a king and queen and the lower tier depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ. The hinged wooden carcass framed and carved medallion bone elements on the base. Height 22.5 inches (57 cm). Width open 18.8 inches (47.5 cm).
