A GROUP OF 25 AMBROTYPE AND TINTYPE IMAGES, MID 19TH CENTURY. Mostly cased images comprising a very fine 1/4 plate tintype of a husband, wife and infant, well dressed and the infant with a red tinted ribbon contained in a leather case with fine embossed mat(loose hinge); a double cased pair of 1/6th plate ambrotypes with a single portrait and group of three young boys; a double case 1/6th plate ambrotype portrait of a young man and wife together with a 1/6th plate tintype of an infant, possibly posthumous, and contained in a "lily with flowers" union case (ref. 2-55); A very fine 1/6th plate tintype of a 3/4 length standing woman with cape standing next to a carved belter side chair and contained in a "basket of flowers" union case (ref. 2-41); a 1/6th plate portrait of a gentleman smoking a cigar(cover absent); a 1/6th plate postmortem infant( no case); and eight additional 1/6th plate tintype portraits, together with three cased 1/9th plate portraits including a women reading a book, and a young girl with Staffordshire ceramic dog; two 1/16 plate case portraits, one missing cover; and 5 unmounted tintypes (four 1/6th plate, one 1/9th plate) of mostly group family settings.
