A RUSSIAN FAMILY ICON, 19TH CENTURY. The top margin depicting two wonder-working Mother of God icons. On the left, the Three Handed Mother of God and on the right the Theodore Mother of God. Both overlaid with finely crafted cloth riza decorated with a profusion of seed pearls and paste stones. The lower margin displaying four family saints and the Guardian Angel. From the left St. Basil the Great, St. Antipas, the Guardian Angel, St. John Chrysostom and the Venerable Anastasia. The entire icon overlaid with a gilded silver and repousse riza hallmarked Moscow, dated 1895, Cyrillic makers mark V.K and 84 silver standard. 14.25 inches x 12.25 inches (36cmx 31cm).
